Who are the people of Avon United Methodist Church?
Our congregation is diverse in many ways: age, race, marital status, faith development, and many more. We have people from all over the Hendricks County area and Indianapolis area worshiping with us each week. We are committed to transforming our community and world into a more Christ-like place through or prayers, our presence, our gifts, and our service. We financially support mission work locally and around the world and involve our members in hands on mission work and through our own spiritual growth. We believe that God is blessing our congregation with people as they experience the love of God in and through our congregation.
What should I expect when I visit?
We here at AUMC desire that you experience God in new and exciting ways. When you come to worship with us, you will experience a community of faith. You can come and participate in great music, encouraging messages, welcoming people, and the feeling of God’s loving presence. We have no expectations how you come, so dress how you feel comfortable, because we want you to know you are received as a guest. We realize that a visit to any church takes courage, and bring with you questions so please contact us.
What does Avon UMC have for me?
Avon UMC offers many different ways of allowing you to experience God and our church family. You are invited to our worship services on Sunday mornings and there are numerous Sunday School classes for all ages: children, youth, young adult, young couples, and adults.
Do you have a Mission Statement?
Our mission statement is very simple. It reads: Seek, Know, Share Jesus. It is more than a tag-line, it is a call to action! We recognize that all are on a spiritual journey and we celebrate with you in your journey and encourage you to continue to grow in the faith God has already given you.
What does Avon UMC believe?
The beliefs of Avon United Methodist Church are the same as the entire United Methodist Church.
Avon UMC cares. How can we help you?
The reality of life is that we all need help at all different times in our lives. Avon UMC wants to offer you any help that we can by showing you the love God has for you in real and tangible ways. Please feel free to contact any of our pastors or staff. We have several support groups that meet in our buildings through out the week. We offer counseling by our pastors, and can always help you find the support you may need including prayer support and being part of our prayer chain. We truly care about you and your future and we know that surviving in this world is difficult when you try to do it by yourself, so you are invited to come and be a part of our family where you will not be alone.
